The theme for September is “Care of God’s Creation” and will include the following sessions:
September 10: “Flora and Fauna: Creating a National Park in your Back Yard”
Jean Ponzi, Green Resources Manager at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s EarthWays Center, will talk about ways to make yards environmentally friendly and a welcoming place for pollinators. Presented in conjunction with Bethel’s Green Team.
September 17: “Caring for Ourselves”
Dr. Sophia Pierroutsakos, Professor of Psychology, St. Louis Community College, will discuss with us the effects of stress on the body and will offer strategies for dealing with worry and anxiety in our lives.
September 24: “Care of Community”
Madeline Franklin, JD, is Founder and Executive Director of STL Village, a community network located at Second Presbyterian Church. She will talk about the ways in which STL Village assists people age 50+ with 24/7 access to a full range of activities and support services for safe and socially-connected living while “aging in place.” A time for participant Q & A and discussion on the presentation will be included.
